Persuasive v informative openings
Informative opening
Good morning, everyone. As you know, my name’s Peter Barker and I’m a student here at New College. In my presentation today, I’m going to talk about cycling to the campus rather than coming by car. Basically, my presentation will be in three parts. In the first part, I’ll talk about some environmental issues. Then, I’ll look at the financial side of things and to finish off, I’ll focus on personal safety.
Persuasive opening
Good morning, everyone. As you know, my name’s Richard McGarry and I’m a student here at New College. In my presentation today, I’m going to focus on why I strongly believe that more people should be cycling to the campus rather than coming by car. Basically, my presentation will be in three parts. In the first part, I’ll show you the environmental benefits of leaving the car at home. Then, I’ll let you see just how much money you could save. And to finish off, I’ll demonstrate how travelling to the campus by bicycle can have a massive impact on everyone’s personal safety.
